Ingredients

  • 4 beef round steaks (about 1.5 lbs total)
    Salt and pepper, to taste
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    1/4 lbs mushroom sliced
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 cup beef broth
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
    Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

  • 1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Season 4 beef round steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
    Thinly slice 1 medium onion.
    Sliced mushroom.
  • 2. Set Up the Slow Cooker:
Place the onion slices in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Lay the seasoned beef round steaks and mushroom on top of the onions.
  • 3. Make the Gravy:
In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup beef broth, and 1
    tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
If you prefer a thicker gravy, dissolve 1 tablespoon cornstarch in 2 tablespoons cold water and stir it into the
    mixture.
  • 4. Cook the Beef:
Pour the gravy mixture over the steaks in the slow cooker.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the steaks are tender and fully cooked.
  • 5. Serve:
Once cooked, remove the steaks from the slow cooker and serve them with mashed potatoes or rice.
Spoon the gravy over the steaks and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.2 25

Notes

  • Advice:
For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the slow cooker.
If you want a more robust gravy, sauté the onions in butter before adding them to the slow cooker.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat well in the microwave.
