Directions

  • 1. Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
Add 1 lb of thinly sliced beef round steak to the marinade, ensuring the beef is fully coated. Cover and marinate for at least 20-30 minutes (or up to 4 hours in the fridge for deeper flavor).
  • 2. Cook the Vegetables:
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 1 sliced bell pepper, 1 sliced onion, and 2 minced garlic cloves to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft and slightly charred. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  • 3. Cook the Beef:
In the same skillet, add the marinated beef round steak strips. Sauté the beef over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  • 4. Serve:
Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
Serve the beef and vegetable mixture in the tortillas. Add toppings like sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, and guacamole.

Notes

  • Advice:
For extra flavor, let the beef marinate longer (up to 4 hours) to enhance the seasoning.
If you prefer more spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the marinade.
Serve the fajitas with a side of rice and beans for a more complete meal.
